Local Learning Units
During 2022 and 2023, we initiated a new project as part of the first cohort of the Resilient Civil Society Program led by USAID and Fhi360 (Family Health International). Our programmatic experience performed throughout the years showed us that it was time to reflect carefully on what was happening inside the schools, so we could deliver better results.
This project aimed to reduce the educational gap exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic in rural and indigenous communities in Los Altos, Chiapas through the creation of five learning units.
Promoting dialog within the communities would help teachers and other stakeholders to strengthen pedagogical strategies to overcome educational loss by addressing other important issues like language barriers faced by indigenous students.
